Yesterday afternoon, an email from my mother reminded me why I love this time of year: not only is it Valentine’s Day, but the Westminster Dog Show started last night! I’d forgotten about it until she sent a note, so I’m happy she is as weird about dogs as I am.
Philly and I nestled in to watch the show last night (yep, all three hours) and I tried to mentally steel myself against the gut-wrenching dog food commercials they were sure to debut. Turns out, I did not steel myself nearly enough. This one, in particular, got me so hard that I cried at it three separate times. And like, real crying, too, not those “tilt your head to prevent that mist from falling from your eyes” kind of crying.
So, here you go. (Trust me, you shouldn’t watch this at your desk, unless your cubicle mates are very understanding or are fellow Dog People):
It’s the water rescue dog that gets me every damn time. And then comes the soldier, to make sure I’m full-out bawling.
GUH. Dogs are just the best, amiright?!
First of all, I watched this with the sound off because I’m at my desk.
Did you notice how it started off with nice cute dogs, to disabled dogs, to dogs SAVING LIVES?
It’s a flood of tears waiting to happen.
I know, right?! First it’s all puppies playing, then BAM! Handicapped dog. And then BOOSH! Dogs saving our stupid asses.
Adam watched it at home and I started tearing up just listening to the music.
OH. GOD.
i hate you
And I am forwarding that video to Joe so he can hate you too
Love it!!!
